Description

South Dakota, Mount Rushmore State, was the 40th state to enter the Union.

Fun Fact: Drilling began on the four faces of Mount Rushmore National Memorial in 1927 by Sculptor Gutzon Borglum. Towering 6,200 feet, the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are scaled to men who would stand 465 feet tall.

How to use these

These state studies really do range! Older kids can work through the pages on their own. They fill in the fact file, look up places online to match with cities, and write about a famous person from the state. Younger kids can do the same pages with you beside them. You read and look things up together while they color, draw and trace. There’s a Letter Find page to keep preschoolers and toddlers busy, plus answer keys for you. Print it all, or just the pages you need.

Multi-age: Older kids can work through these on their own, and younger kids can do them right alongside you.
